Ask me Anything!

Toward the right you’ll notice that I’ve added a widget back. This is for a site called Formspring. Some of you may know about it, but for the ones of you who don’t it’s basically an advice site with sections dedicated to one person. You make an account and people can send you questions rather anonymously or with details. This is a great way to provide advice, let you guys learn about me, and give me challenges. I love giving advice for a very selfish reason. I love the challenge of it. Its not about helping a person but instead I have the ability to give advice and if I didn’t what kind-of person would that make me for wasting a gift.

So, Ask me anything…

Ne[Extroverted Intuition], Ti[Introverted Thinking], Fe[Extroverted Feelings], and Si[Introverted Sensing]; Have you every thought about what this means? An ENTP is always a dominate Ne, or else they wouldn’t be ENTP. However, the other traits can easily be switched; they can be adjusted (to) higher or lower (volumes) of themselves. For example I am an ENTP with extremely strong Ti[Introverted Thinking]. My Ti[Introverted Thinking] rivals my Ne[Extroverted Intuition] in most cases, and if it doesn’t than it is only about 1 % off. I also have extremely low feeling functions. Almost non-existing. This causes me to be more aggressive, and blunt than most ENTPs. If the grand scheme of things I would be NTSF; Introverted Sensing being more dominate than feelings.

I’m not the only example of a change in the ENTP personality based on the placement and strength of functions. Doctor Who, more specifically the 10th Doctor, is a good example of what happens when an ENTP’s Fe[Extroverted Feelings] rivals their Ti[Introverted Thinking]. This allows the ENTP to connect more with the outside world while still giving them an edge; though a duller one than an ENTP with strong Ti[Introverted Thinking]; when it comes to doing what needs to be done. The Doctor also demonstrates elevated Si[Introverted Sensing] allowing him to follow more traditions than the average ENTP.

So, What is my point? The Snowflake Theory states that The original Personality Type is just a base; It contains all the personality traits at 10%, and there are 12 combination that adjust the percentages of those traits to create an individual snowflake (entp). I will only be going over the basic 6 for today: Ti Fe Si, Ti Si Fe, Si Ti Fe, Si Fe Ti, Fe Si Ti, Fe Ti Si. Remember, ENTPs will always be intuition dominates, that will not change. There is a difference between being a INTP [Ti dominate] with Extroverted traits and being an ENTP.

Little codenames are given to each type:

The Madvillain [Ti Si Fe]: Often fitting into the role of Mad Scientist, or Mad Doctor. The Madvillain often scores extremely high in rationality and introverted thinking. Combining Ne and Ti to create a wacky, almost comical, personality type. The Madvillain loves to play with people, often views the world as a little game or experiment, and is probably the bluntest of the Snowflakes. However, this does not make him the most honest. The Madvillain will always do what benefits him the most. He doesn’t take sides and will often not believe in Good & Evil instead replacing it with what is interesting and what is boring. [Correlation: Chaotic Neutral]

The Madvillain Quote: “There is no right and wrong. There’s only fun and boring.” ~ The Plague (Hackers, 1995) [Or: “I was born with a heart two sizes to small” ~ House MD]

The Trickster [Ti Fe Si]: The Trickster is often shown as the dominate type of ENTP. This type makes of the most of what ENTPs are and is most often seen in articles relating to ENTPs. The Trickster is the equivalent of the Coyote Spirit. It loves playing with people, more so than the madvillain, often its pranks are riskful for itself, and the person being pranked. The Trickster is not all bad though. With Fe as a a secondary it can connect with its victims and know when it has went too far. One of the most famous tricksters is Wile E Coyote (Road Runner). The Trickster views the world as a stage, and loves the spotlight. [Correlation: Chaotic ——-]

The Trickster Quote: “Right, too complicated. But what if I built a Burmese tiger trap?” ~ Wile E Coyote

The Doctor [Fe Ti Si]: The Doctor is definitely the nicest of all the ENTPs. Think of them as Lucifer before he got kicked out of heaven. They are just the right combination of real Gentlemen, New World Explorer, and Party Animal. They often love meeting new people. Their Ti rivals their Fe. This allowing them to connect with people in a much deeper manner. They’ll bite their tongues if they feel something they’ll say will hurt someone else. They are pretty much the exact opposite of The Madvillain. The Doctor has a view of the world that is more idealistic than The Trickster. It believes it was put here to help people with its cunning brilliance. It wants to learn & often engages its friends in group decisions on topics they’d normally not talk about. [Correlation: Chaotic Good]

The Doctor Quote: “They can shoot me dead, but the moral high ground is mine.” ~ Doctor Who (10th Doctor)

The Professor [Fe Si Ti]: Oh, have you ever had an ENTP Teacher? Somehow they managed to be more Social with your feelings, Traditional with their rules, and Innovative with their logic? Yep, that would be The Professor. A Ne dominate with strong Fe and Si. The Professor is a teacher who will seat you by names and then call you to the front of the class to preform a play with him (or her). They’re outside of the box traditionalists. Extremely creative social gentlemen. The Professor is all about teaching, because like The Doctor, it only wants to help. [Correlation: Neutral Good]

The Professor Quote: “So my idea of neurotic is spending too much time trying to correct a wrong. When I feel that I’m doing that, then I snap out of it.” ~ Gene Wilder

The Hero [Si Fe Ti]: Every type has a Good and a Bad; perceived by the public’s eye; The Madvillain was already shown as “The Bad Guy” so its only right that “The Hero” be the stereotypical good guy. The Hero somehow manages to combine an extreme background in Traditions with the sporadic craziness. This type can often be confused for ESTJ due to its strong need to correct people who it thinks is in “The Wrong”. It’s the ENTP that would create a safe way for little old ladies to walk across the street. The can’t restrain themselves when it comes to something they feel is wrong. [Correlation: Lawful Good]

The Hero Quote: “He called me irrepressible. This is a man who is truly irrepressible” ~ Q (Star Trek)

The True Neutral [Si Ti Fe]: Almost robotic in terms, not much is known about this type for two reasons: A) They don’t appear to have any personal opinions or feelings; B) This is the rarest of all ENTPs. The True Neutral is the guy you turn to when you want the truth and nothing but the truth. Strong in Traditions but has a weak morality. It can easily get the job done on pretty much any Job. The True Neutral can easily be confused for an INTJ. [Correlation: True Neutral]

The True Neutral Quote: ” ‘You’re out of my mind’ That’s between me and my mind. Let’s start with these rooms.” ~ Jubal Early (Firefly)

TCPE - Action RPGer
6 Twitch-Fluid, 3 Simple-Complex, 8 Planning-Acting and 7 Entertainment-Difficulty!

Action RPG’s have gained popularity over the years. They combine quick action-based gameplay with classic RPG strategy and storytelling. TCPE’s prefer a larger palette of options provided by complex button combos or large menus. The Action Role-Player likes to use their mind as a weapon and then turn that brainpower into brute force. Preparing for battle is almost as important as the battle itself for a TCPE, but they still feel the need to convey the action through their twitchy fingers. They also expect their games to entertain them. TCPE’s will usually overlook a game’s fairly easy difficulty if it satisfies their hunger for strategy and a good story.

Games TCPE’s like: Kingdom Hearts, The Elder Scrolls, Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

TWITCH

You have a strong twitch reflex, which means that your muscles tend to move in very quick jerky movements. This makes you especially adept to action games, since they rely on that very same jerky motion and quick button pressing. You probably beat the pants off of others in minigames using the “tap A to run” mechanism, and you hold your own even in fighting games that you’ve never played because you can execute the moves very quickly. Unfortunately, you also have trouble with games that require precision movements like shooting games. Your thumbs are just too fast and that little analog stick is so sensitive! And games that require precise timings like the Mario Bros 3 extra life slider give you trouble as well.

COMPLEX

The more the better is your motto. You want your games to be a nuanced and varied as you are. You don’t mind shuffling through an extra menu or two or learning a couple more combos. If it will add depth to the game and give you more freedom, bring it on! You’ve probably debated on more than one occasion why can’t Pokemon have more than four moves at a time. Or you’ve committed yourself to learning Zangeif’s entire moveset, just to be that much better for the next match. You enjoy managing money, stats and equipment, making your team or army or city bigger, better, and badder. And you’re always looking for a new way to complete a task. You also tend to lose interest or generally have trouble with simpler games, as you become frustrated or confused by the lack of things in your control.

PLANNING

When it comes to the actual act of playing, you’re a no-frills flawless machine. It’s a good thing that video game characters don’t actually carry all the stuff in your inventory, because they’d probably suffocate underneath it all! You’ve got your armies all highly trained and equipped with rocket launchers and jeeps with gatling guns. You didn’t even have to be in the same room as your PS2 to finish the final boss of Final Fantasy XII. You’re prepared for anything because you’ve got it all figured out ahead of time. But even the best plans backfire sometimes and that’s where your weakness shines through. You’re so used to having enough healing potions that when you actually run out you’re a sitting duck.

ENTERTAINMENT

You play mostly for the fun of the game. Whether its the story, the gameplay, or just the overall feel of the game, something about it draws you in. You’ll find yourself popping a game in years after you completed it to revisit the characters, locales, and gameplay. You probably own at least a few game soundtracks and maybe a few posters. You appreciate games as art and a way to pass the time. You may also play competitively (either professionally or amateur) but that’s not the reason you’ll be playing them 40 years from now.
